Find Your Motivation!


Hello, dear reader, and welcome back to my blog! If you are visiting my site, you are probably well aware of the fact that I focus on helping people achieve their goals, live better lives and, generally become the best version of themselves that they can be. In my experience, one of the most important things that a person can develop in order to make sure that they are able to achieve the goals they have set out for themselves is to take control of their motivation and learn how to use it to their advantage. At one point or another, everyone struggles with motivation, however, I strongly believe that motivation, like any other skill, is something that simply needs to be developed. In today’s post, I’m going to go over a few tips for staying motivated and keeping your eye on the prize. Continue reading below to learn more.


Find Your Drive and Stick With it


When I speak of motivation, what I am really talking about is a person’s innate drive to better themselves and their situation. Everyone on this planet, whether they realize it or not, has the ability to achieve the goals they have set for themselves. While it is true that some goals require more work than others, at their core, all goals are the same. Below, I have listed a few techniques you can use to make sure that your goals become reality.



  • Personal Values: Above all else, it is important that your goals align with your values. If you are able to look at your goals and see the ways in which they will not only make your life better but will also make you feel better about yourself, you will find that motivation follows. Even if you can only connect your values to your goals in a small way, you are one step closer to making these goals a reality. For example, if one of your core values is to learn and grow as you make your way through this journey we call life, incorporate that into how you think of achieving your goals. Don’t simply promise yourself that you are going to lift weights today, tell yourself that you are going to lift more weights or do more sets than you did the last time you worked out. Setting small goals such as this is a great way to achieve the larger goals in your life and stay motivated while doing so.
  • Find the Why: Once you have connected your goals to your personal values, it is important to understand why you are doing something. Finding a compelling purpose for the things that you do is a great motivator because you are not doing something just to do it. If you want to lose weight, ask yourself why you want to lose weight. Is it to look better? Feel better? Live longer? Whatever your “why” is, use it as a way to stay focused. You’d be amazed at how motivating it can be to understand why you are doing something instead of just jumping in head first.
  • Focus on the Feeling: One of the best ways to stay motivated is to focus on the positive feelings you felt when you achieved something particularly great. It has been shown that when people are in a positive mood, they are more likely to stay motivated. Success breeds more success and focussing on the positives will allow you to achieve your goals.
